CYCLE Kids
CYCLE Kids is a non profit, founded in 2004. They are based in Cambridge MA and NYC, with programs nationwide reaching 9k+ children each year. They’re committed to working with schools in underserved, minority communities to ensure the basic rights of 3rd and 4th grade children to a physically and emotionally healthy start in life. Their mission to ensure all children have the confidence to pursue their dreams. Children living in poverty face many challenges each and every day. Sometimes school is the only place a child receives positive feedback and the support to believe they can become anything they put their minds too.
CYCLE Kids works with schools to give them tools to help their students succeed in the classroom and beyond. When children fall in love with biking and master the skill, they feel confident and proud. They learn how to take a risk and overcome fear. They come out of the program feeling more confident, successful, and ready to face new challenges.
THE PRODUCTION STORY
This project began with writing a great script. We brought on board a great copywriter named Spencer Rinkus who helped bring a new voice to the CK story. Filmed in Brooklyn, director Stebs traveled from California to to film with the team at Cyclekids in one of their many programs around the country. He spoke with the founder Julie, as well as faculty and students at the school who love the program. From there Vince Roque brought his editing skills to the project and brought the story to life.
